Old Older Brother...

My brother turns 40 this weekend (Yes, he IS older than me!) and I turned to the incredible owl-musings of Kez Bunting for some inspiration.

My brother has flown planes since he was in nappies and has some high-falutin' title within Her Majesty's Royal Air Force... to me he is bruv... or sometimes Sir if I feel it might help me avoid physical pain!??!  We grew up in an old English pub and he has a pomme penchant for warm beer!  Hence inspiration behind card!

Despite our age, experience and the distance between us, when I see him he offers bear hugs and the ominous look in his eye that he is going to ruffle my hair!

Extreme, dude...

OK, so I am not 'down' with street talk and often find myself in 70s/80s mode with 'groovy-nice one-wicked', but I know an AWESOME modern masculine card when I see one and Jo Eade utterly nailed it!

I've blatantly copied the entire design - well, why fix what ain't broken!?! - maybe I added an extra layer and then followed through by embossing Extreme Guitarist as well as Jo's original Extreme Surfboard.

It's so hard to make modern, masculine cards but Extreme Elements have certainly kicked my groove into gear!

babeeJack...

oooooooh!  Two of our best pals have just had their second baby boy, gorgeously referred to by older bro' Harrison as babeeJack (one word, said very fast!).

I'd seen a few furniture-themed cards online and took my inspiration from a number of places whilst making this design my own.  I am utterly in love with the Woodgrain background stamp which I had used here in the most classic sense.

Paper flowers....

Tee hee.... it's terribly naughty when one finds a stash of previously bought, entirely untouched craft goodies!  This week I found these beautiful little paper flowers that I think are a purchase from about 18 months ago... +++!

So using a paper piercer, embossing folders and some accents I've created a few variations with my new found lovelies!

Miss A's invite...

I set up the design and my DD1 put these pretty little invites together to send out to her friends  :o)  Which reminds me... we must post them!!

All papers are from Bazill Bling range so have a lovely little sparkle to them which is hard to pick up in photos.  The butterflies are SU sizzlit diecuts and are pretty much the favourite thing in our girly household right now!  Anything coming from my DDs is usually plastered in these little poppets!

No doubt DD1's craft party will host a few butterflies too!

Time flies...

... and so do butterflies!?!  So I paired a wee calendar block with the Butterfly Prints stamp set to make this easel card.  

DD1 has asked for a craft party to celebrate her 7th birthday and one of the hand-made items the girls-only party will make will be an easel calendar - the colours will be much more bright, girly and colourful but I needed to do some practising and using 'leftovers' was able to produce this - v v happy!

Quick thank you's ....

I desperately needed to get a couple of thank you cards out before... well, before it got to February!  So I cased a design by Liam Pucher and was thrilled with 1) how they turned out! & 2) how very quick they were to make!

Think I might make a stockpile for future emergencies!

Cafe Christmas Class ...

Tonight, I had the real privilege of running a Christmas craft evening at my wonderful friends' Renee & Pete's cafe!

Along with the Santa box, the beautiful & handsome crew of 21 made the following two card designs.

New Year's Resolution? ... pluck up the courage to try and run regular classes! Love love LOVED IT!

Christmas loot boxes...

I really do have to stop taking my photos after midnight! I just don't have the right light!

Anyways.... having created the Santa box at another fantastic class with Sue Dean, I realised the casing potential of these cute little boxes, suitable for lollies or small gifts.

OK - so the snowman, with his enlarged head looks a little scary!  (Scope for Halloween!) but I'm generally stoked with the result of these punch art friends - Miss P's favourite is the angel, whilst Miss M likes the reindeer :o)
